Consider this an invitation, a call to adventure and exploration. In the spirit of making it easy to say ‘yes’ to this call, you can now reserve a spot on any Modern Adventure for $1,000 to $2,000 per person, depending on the trip.
We are diligently adopting best practices and working with each of our partners around the world to ensure that we are making the best decisions on when, and how we travel. Clearly, as we are already experiencing in our daily lives, there will be new protocols and precautions laced throughout any movement and experience, however, it will not diminish the joy and fruits of our adventures and the long term enrichment they provide.
Booking an adventure to come is like planting a seed of curiosity, discovery, and joy that can be watered daily. So reserve your spot now on any Modern Adventure traveling in 2023 and beyond. Near or far, we can’t wait to explore the world with you.

How MO/AD Trip Deposits Work
Rserve your spot on any Modern Adventure. Here’s what you need to know. Note that some of our departures may have payment terms that differ from the following; we’ll always make sure any differences are clearly explained at checkout.
How do I make a deposit?
We are accepting deposits of $1,000 – $2,000 per person for all Modern Adventures traveling in 2023 and beyond. Find your trip, then select “Deposit” when making your booking.
When is the balance due?
Full payment is generally due 180 days prior to your trip’s departure date. We’ll email a reminder a few days before your full payment is due.
If you make a deposit for a trip departing in fewer than 180 days, we’ll reach out to collect the balance of payment either 30 days from the date of your booking, or 60 days prior to your trip departure date, whichever is sooner.
If full payment is not received when due, Modern Adventure reserves the right to cancel your reservation.
I want a private room, do I need to pay the single supplement when making a trip deposit?
Yes. For solo travelers who want a “Single – No Share” room (if one is available), your room supplement must be paid when making a trip deposit. We stay in unique, in-demand boutique hotels and advance payment is required to guarantee your single room. Alternatively, if you would like us to pair you with a roommate of the same gender, that option may be available at checkout. These “Single – Willing to Share” spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis—and no additional fee is required when making a trip deposit.
If I cancel my deposit or my trip, is it refundable?
Our standard terms & conditions apply to all bookings, including trip deposits. Which means you may:
- Cancel up to 120 days prior to departure, and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee (to cover credit card fees and other non-refundable costs associated with your booking)
- Cancel between 119 and 61 days prior to departure, and receive a 50% refund
- Within 60 days of departure, there is a 100% cancel fee
